A zoological curiosity The small pellets are dung from some small wild animal, possibly squirrels or the smallest African antelope - the "dick dick". The small white rings are organic matter. Where found, on top of the mountain to the south of Buia village (Northern Dankalia) each ring was orderly fitted with a pellet of dung inside. The last two pictures show the exoskeleton of some annelid (found one year later on Buia's plain) and which gave an hint as to the nature of the white rings of organic nature. The pellets probably where fit into the rings by some beetle. |
