USE THE SYLPHEED E-MAIL CLIENT

There are a number of different e-mail clients available to Linux users, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. Knowing which e-mail client to use can often be difficult, since you have to explore the many features that each one offers.

Aside from the well-known clients, such as Evolution and Kmail, Sylpheed is quite popular and extremely powerful. Sylpheed is a lightweight, GTK-based e-mail client with a lot of features under the hood, including filtering that's based on simple rules or complex regular expressions, multiple folder support, and GnuPG support for encrypting and digitally signing e-mails. It also supports Usenet, so you can use it to read and write to your favorite newsgroups.

Another benefit of Sylpheed is that it's fast. Loading Sylpheed takes a fraction of the time that's required to load similar GUI clients. In addition, it has the ability to synchronize with your Palm Pilot for addresses. The Sylpheed address book also supports Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP).
